All newly registered patients will be asked to complete a registration form, a questionnaire and have a medical health check with a Practice Nurse within one month of registration.

Medical treatment is available from the date of registration should it be required.

The Accessible Information Standard - (AIS)

The Accessible Information Standard aims to make sure that people who have a disability, impairment or sensory loss get information that they can access and understand, and any communication support that they need from health and care services. The Standard tells organisations how they should make sure that patients and service users, and their carers and parents, can access and understand the information they are given. This includes making sure that people get information in accessible formats.

PATIENT PARTICATION GROUP

The purpose of the group is to facilitate patients and the practice staff working together to share ideas to help improve the services offered at the practice. In addition to sourcing out any local community services that would help enhance aspects of the patient's lives.

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
